SUMMER BREAK

You've done it!

You have completed your SWAP Access Programme! If you're staying on at college to do an HN, your college will be in touch with you to let you know what's next.  If you're moving on to university, your SWAP student profile will be forwarded from your college tutors to the SWAPWest office by the end of June. We will check your profile and your offers. Provided you have met the conditions of your offer, we will forward a copy of your profile to your chosen university and they will be in touch with you in due course. You do not need to send the university any information; we will do that for you. This usually happens by the end of July, at the latest.

By late August or early September, you will have heard from your university confirming your place and inviting you along for any number of university events. These may include Freshers' Week, an enrolment or induction day and/or a meeting with an academic advisor from your department.

Also, remember that universities do not close down over the summer. If you have any questions or concerns, if you need to organise help with a disability or learning difficulty or if you want to talk to someone about financial matters, you can do so over the summer. One major advantage to doing this is, of course, that things will be relatively quiet. If you wait until September, you'll be at the end of a long queue, so address these matters earlier rather than later.

It is an exciting time and there is so much to think about, you may run the risk of forgetting to have a break, but now is the time to REALLY relax. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done and line up some fun and relaxing activities for yourself over the summer. You'll be hard at work again in September, so make the most of this precious time off.

Don't forget to stay in touch with SWAP after you have moved on. We love to hear from former SWAP students and
stories like yours could be very inspiring for next year's students, so let us know how you're doing.

Have a great summer!
